Both characters get something new from it. It’s party time! When he realizes that it isn’t that simple, he keeps going and going until he finds something to make it right. It turns out that the guy he’s known at the club is going to be his mate. There is usually some deep shame or hurt that the character is going through, hence the reason for the story. We don’t get a lot of them in bdsm stories.

Marsdon was such an optimistic character. It took some time, but he was able to see that he could still be alpha and be bound to his mate at the same time. It was nice to see such a strong man let go and reconcile a submissive streak. And even those times we mentioned in passing, not a main part of the story.īennett was great. I think there was only 1 or 2 times when they were in wolf form. They may have had a more sensitive senses, and they may be stronger than a normal human, but there wasn’t a major paranormal extravaganza. In this story there didn’t seem to be superwolves. I liked that there was a way to trick the wolf nose. When they finally get it right, I’m clapping like a crazy person. When the characters are being idiots, I feel their frustrations. When one of the characters says something hurtful, I feel a little twinge. Something that Dare does so well is make the characters real to the readers. As I’m sure many bdsm-ers found themselves in a similar dilemma, I can totally see this struggle as realistic. It focuses on the differences between what Bennett needs versus what he thinks others expect from him. The Mark of an Alpha certainly does that. Known for her bdsm (light) stories, she is constantly having to mix it up. All they can do now, is make the most of it.

They have just one more night together before they have to lose each other forever. Marsdon and Bennett have lives to get back to, they have packs to return to…they have wolfen traditions to follow. And sometimes the omegas are more than they first appear to be.Ī wolf might be able to hide his identity and play anonymously in those clubs for a little while, but he can’t ignore reality forever. Sometimes the most alpha men in the club find happiness with the most omega men. Power is exchanged freely and for the ultimate pleasure of all. Human leather clubs work to different rules. Equality between the alphas is everything.

The alpha pair is the corner stone of the pack. Once Marsdon and Bennett try things the human way – nothing can ever be the same for them again. Dominance and submission mean different things to werewolves than to humans.
